USACE New Orleans District, Hydroseeding & Turf Establishment IDIQ

Keiland Construction was awarded the Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract with the United States Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans District to perform hydroseeding and turf establishment for the entire south eastern portion of Louisiana. To date, Keiland has completed six task orders for levee and berm repair covering over 100 acres at various locations throughout southeast Louisiana.

Each task order consists of taking multiple soil samples and providing soil analysis to design the project-specific approach to the levee repair, ground preparation, furnishing/compacting clay and topsoil materials, structural levee repairs, grass seeding, hydro mulching, watering and mowing. The specialized mulch used for the majority of the projects is developed specifically for high sloped areas. First, soil is sampled from various areas at each individual task order location and analyzed for appropriate soil fertility to ensure there are no establishment issues. The ground is then tilled and prepped with custom fabricated implements for the seeding and hydro mulching application process. Once the areas of the levee have been completely repaired, the areas are then monitored for an additional two to three months during which the fertilization process occurs as required by the site-specific scientifically designed levee repair plan.

Keiland has a full fleet of equipment to perform levee repair of any magnitude. Multiple state of the art, custom built implements ranging from 12 ft/10 ft/8 ft discs, a 72" Harley rake used in conjunction with a CAT 259 Compact Track Loader and customized heavy duty rollers, are used by our skilled workers to efficiently complete each aspect of the levee repair and turf establishment process. Keiland has Kubota tractors ranging from a 4800 model to a 7040 model with various sized tractors in between. Our 1,000 gallon Finn T-120 Gooseneck Hydroseeder is pulled by our fully equipped diesel Chevrolet C5500 truck, used specifically for hydroseeding application.

We take pride in our ability and proven history to complete each levee repair and turf establishment task order with exceptional results and in record time. We welcome any opportunity to further exercise our expertise in turf establishment and levee repair.
